Nail of the Day

I thought that with all this miserable weather I needed cheering up with summer nails!

I started with two coats of 17 Tropical Island then a top coat of Models Own Indian Ocean for a bit of a shimmer!

I never normally buy 17 products but this had been hanging around for a while at the bottom of my over flowing bag of nail varnishes and I thought it was a bit different to the usual pinks I had been wearing. The Models Own bottle was anew purchase but is very pale on it's own so is better over another colour.

What is on your nails at the moment?

A Horse of Course

All the shops seem to be full of clothes with animals on at the moment.  My wardrobe is overflowing with cat items so I thought it was time to branch out on to a different animal!

The top is from Select which is a shop I don't normally go in but I happened to pop in a while ago and I was surprised to find lots of tops which I liked.  I especially like the tie feature at the top....

I have already worn it a twice and might wear it again tomorrow! It was also a bargain at only £12.

Have you ever bought anything in Select or discovered a new favourite shop lately?

Nail of the Day

I have been trying to experiment with my nail things but am struggling to do anything more creative than spots or lines!

I used Revlon Plum Attraction and Plum Seduction - this is one of my favourite ever nail varnishes and I am on my 3rd bottle!

Does anyone have a good nail art suggestions?

Retro Sweets - Pick n Mix

I was in Boots today buying my lunch and I spotted these sweets....

I used to love the Pick and Mix sweets at Woolworths when I was little, and if I am being honest I still loved them as a teenager and adult! These had some of my favourites like jazzies and ice cream cones, not to mention chocolate pigs and mice!

Unfortunately I ate the first bag at work so I had to buy another bag on my way home so I could share them with you!

Introducing Bella.....

I can't believe I haven't yet done a blog about hamsters or handbags, of course hamsters are much more important so here are a few photos of Bella!

Coming out of her cage to play...

Relaxing on the sofa....

Looking at her reflection....

Isn't she cute? She is lovely and very friendly.  She is also very clever, not only did she learn how to escape from her old cage by opening the flap, when she had had enough of running round my flat in the middle of the night and chewing anything that took her fancy she would come into my room and run over my bed until I woke up!  As much fun as that was I thought it would be more sensible to buy her a bigger and safer cage so there are no more night time adventures! I think it was cheaper to spend money on a new cage rather than replacing every electrical cable in my flat - I still haven't been able to get one for my printer! Besides from that she is an excellent house mate!

Cat Print Dress!!

I was in Debenhams last week and couldn't resist buying this lovely cat print dress!

I love anything with cats on, and although I have a lot of tops I don't have a dress!  I loved the print, I wasn't so sure about the orange cats but when I tried it on they didn't look quite as bright and it made the dress more interesting.

It was in the Red Herring department in Debenhams and was £25, luckily  there was a sale on and it had 20% off so it was only £20!

Lastly I couldn't do another cat post without sharing a photo of my beautiful cat Jasmine...

Bourjois Flower Protection

I saw this in Boots last week for the first time, it's called 'Flower Protection Translucent Smoothing Primer' from Bourjois.  I was instantly interested as I love the idea of wearing a primer but I have tried lots and none of them have overly impressed me. Also I have bought a few Bourjois products lately and really liked them all.

It is quite a small pot (7ml) and it says you can wear it alone or under foundation, as I wear make-up everyday I went for the second option!  The primer is white and rubbed into my skin nicely and you only need to use a little bit - I have learnt from past experiences with primers if you use too much the rest of your make up will slide off!

The primer is normally £10.99 but when I got there was an offer of buy two selected products for £13, so I also got the Flower Perfection foundation which is normally £11.99, what a bargain!

This is a 'Youth Extension Foundation' and claims to give you a 'smooth, beautified complexion for up to 16 hours' and it also has spf 15.  I was drawn in by the 'Youth Extension' name as I am approaching the end of my 20's and am now at the age where I get really excited if I get asked for ID at the bar!

I love this foundation, it goes on really easily both with or without the primer.  It is quite thick which is my preference in a foundation and lasted really well throughout the day.

The unique selling point for this foundation is that it comes with a sponge applicator in the lid, sorry it didn't come out very well in the photo! I haven't tried it yet, mainly because I'm always in such a rush in the morning that I don't have time to try something new but I will let you know when I have!
